SearchAtlas Alternative: Pricing, Plans and OTTO SEO Compared
SearchAtlas costs $99, $199, $399 or $999 a month. Two things decide whether it is the right buy, and neither is on the price tag: the ladder is priced on rank tracker projects and seats rather than on content, and OTTO's default way of applying fixes is a pixel that injects them into the rendered page rather than into your CMS.
Updated September 2026. Every SearchAtlas figure on this page was read from searchatlas.com/pricing on 2 September 2026, and the OTTO deployment wording from searchatlas.com/otto-seo and searchatlas.com/otto-pixel the same day. Where a number is our arithmetic rather than something SearchAtlas publishes, the page says so in the same sentence.

SearchAtlas alternatives: the short answer
SearchAtlas is a full SEO platform built around OTTO, an automation layer that finds technical and on-page problems and applies the fixes for you. It also carries a rank tracker, Google Business Profile automation, backlink tooling and an AI writer. Paid plans run $99, $199, $399 and $999 a month with a 7 day free trial. People go looking for an alternative for one of three reasons: the entry price is $99 when only one part of the platform is being used, the article allowance turned out to be smaller than expected, or the way OTTO applies changes did not match what their developer expected.
Match the replacement to the reason. If you need the rank tracking, the local SEO automation and the backlink data, stay on a platform: SearchAtlas at $99 is genuinely cheaper than Semrush at $139 or Ahrefs Lite at $129 for a broader feature set, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If what you actually want is briefs and scoring, Frase at $49 a month is the closer swap. If the bottleneck is that the articles never get written and published, that is what Rankable does, from $19 a month.
Be straight with yourself about one thing before switching. SearchAtlas tracks rankings, automates Google Business Profile work and sells link building. Rankable does none of that. We research the cluster, write the articles, link them together and publish them. If a rank tracker is what gets the invoice approved, keep a tool that has one, and read our roundup of AI SEO tools instead of switching to us. This page is for the buyer whose real problem is an empty content calendar.

| Plan | Billed monthly | AI article credits a month | OTTO SEO projects | Rank tracker projects | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99 | 30 | 1 | 20 | 1 seat, a single site testing OTTO |
| Growth | $199 | 60 | 2 | 50 | 3 seats, a small in-house team |
| Pro | $399 | 90 | 4 | 1,000 | 5 seats, the tier you buy for rank tracking |
| Agency | $999 | 300 | 10 | Unlimited | 10 seats, client work at volume |
| Rankable | $19, $59 or $149 | 4, 20 or 100 | Not applicable | No rank tracker | Getting the articles written and published |
SearchAtlas figures read from searchatlas.com/pricing on 2 September 2026. Seats run 1, 3, 5 and 10 across the four tiers, Google Business Profile projects 3, 10, 25 and 100, and content pages 40, 100, 200 and 500. SearchAtlas publishes no per-tier annual dollar figures. Rankable figures are our own published ladder. Vendors change pricing often, so confirm on their site before you buy.
What to check before you buy or switch
Six things that decide whether SearchAtlas is the right purchase, including the two that are not on the pricing page.
The ladder is priced on rank tracker projects, not on content
Look at what actually changes as you climb. AI article credits go 30, 60, 90, 300 a month. Keyword rank tracker projects go 20, 50, 1,000, unlimited. That 50 to 1,000 step between Growth and Pro is a twentyfold jump, and it is the single biggest change anywhere on the ladder. If you are weighing Growth against Pro, you are almost certainly buying rank tracking capacity, not content. Decide whether you need it, because that is the whole difference between $199 and $399.
Pro is the worst value per article on the ladder
Divide price by AI article credits and the cost per article is $3.30 on Starter, $3.32 on Growth, $4.43 on Pro and $3.33 on Agency. That arithmetic is ours, done on SearchAtlas's published figures, and it says something useful: content is roughly flat-priced across the platform except at Pro, where you pay more per article than on the cheapest plan. Nobody buys Pro for the writing. If content is your reason for upgrading, the upgrade is not doing what you think.
OTTO's default path applies changes in the browser, not in your CMS
SearchAtlas tells you to "place OTTO Pixel in your website header to connect your site", with a no-code Cloudflare DNS option and an edge route that pushes fixes through a Cloudflare Worker. On that default path the optimizations are injected into the page that is served, so they will not show up in your CMS editor. This is not a criticism, it is how the product is designed to avoid touching your stack, and plenty of teams prefer it. But it is worth knowing before your developer asks where the title tags went.
There is a second path, and it does write into your CMS
SearchAtlas ships native connectors for WordPress, HubSpot, Webflow, Shopify, Contentful and Duda, plus a code pipeline through GitHub and Vercel. Those write changes into the platform properly. So the honest answer to "does OTTO edit my site or just overlay it?" is that it depends which connection you set up. Ask which path your own stack would use during the trial, because the two behave differently and the pricing page does not distinguish between them.
Check what survives if the pixel comes out
SearchAtlas states that "changing your OTTO plan doesn't affect your live optimizations or site updates", which covers moving between tiers. What we could not find stated anywhere is what happens to pixel-delivered changes if you remove the pixel entirely or the subscription ends. That is a fair question to put to their team in writing during the 7 day trial. Anything written through a native CMS connector is in your CMS and is yours either way.
Seats are tight at the bottom
Starter is one seat. Growth is three, Pro is five, Agency is ten. A two-person marketing team is on Growth at $199 a month for headcount reasons alone, before anyone looks at features. Count the people who need to log in first, because on this ladder that number picks the plan more often than volume does.
How to choose between SearchAtlas and an alternative
Four steps that take about ten minutes and save you from buying the wrong tier of the right tool.
Write down which module you are really buying
OTTO automation, rank tracking, local and Google Business Profile work, link building, or the AI writer. SearchAtlas bundles five products and almost nobody opens all five. The honest answer decides whether any alternative is even a candidate, because a single-purpose tool is usually cheaper and better at one job than a platform is.
Count seats and rank tracker projects before you look at articles
Those two lines move the most across the ladder: seats go 1, 3, 5, 10 and rank tracker projects go 20, 50, 1,000, unlimited. Article credits barely move by comparison. Working out your seat count and your tracking needs will land you on a tier in about two minutes, and it will usually be a different tier than the one the content limits suggested.
Ask which OTTO connection your stack would use
Pixel in the header, Cloudflare DNS, Cloudflare Worker at the edge, a native CMS connector, or the GitHub and Vercel pipeline. Get the answer for your specific setup during the trial rather than after. It determines whether the changes live in your content management system or are applied to the page as it is served, and that is a decision your engineering team will want to have been consulted on.
Divide by the articles you will genuinely publish
Not the credit allowance, the number that will actually go live. On SearchAtlas that is about $3.30 an article on Starter and $4.43 on Pro by our arithmetic on their published figures. On Rankable it works out at $4.75 on Starter, $2.95 on Growth and $1.49 on Scale. Comparing tools on allowance rather than on shipped pages is how teams end up paying for credits that expire unused.
Which option fits your situation
Solo founder or one-person marketing team
SearchAtlas Starter is $99 a month for one seat, 30 article credits and OTTO on a single site. That is a lot of platform for one person, and the seat limit means there is no room to add a freelancer without moving to $199. If the whole reason you are shopping is that nothing gets published, Rankable Starter is $19 a month for 4 articles and Growth is $59 for 20.
Local business or multi-location brand
This is where SearchAtlas is strong and we are not a candidate at all. Google Business Profile automation runs 3, 10, 25 and 100 projects across the four tiers, which is real capacity for someone managing listings, posts and review replies. We do not do local SEO. Buy the platform.
In-house content team that already ranks
You have the tracking, you have the audit, and the gap is throughput. Growth at $199 buys 60 article credits and three seats. Compare that with Rankable Growth at $59 for 20 published articles across 5 sites, or Scale at $149 for 100 across 25. The trade is explicit: you give up the rank tracker and the backlink data to get the articles researched, written, internally linked and put live.
Agency running client SEO end to end
Agency at $999 a month covers 10 seats, 10 OTTO projects, 100 Google Business Profile projects and unlimited rank tracker projects. Nothing we sell replaces that, and a page like this is more useful to you if it says so. Where we fit is underneath a platform like that, as the layer that produces client articles at volume once the strategy and the tracking are already handled.

SearchAtlas questions, answered
How much does SearchAtlas cost?
SearchAtlas costs $99 a month for Starter, $199 for Growth, $399 for Pro and $999 for Agency, on monthly billing. All four include a 7 day free trial. SearchAtlas does not publish per-tier annual dollar figures on its pricing page, so if you want the annual rate you will need to get it from their team before you commit.
Is SearchAtlas free?
No. SearchAtlas has no permanent free plan. It offers a 7 day free trial, after which the cheapest paid option is Starter at $99 a month with one seat and 30 AI article credits. No money-back guarantee is stated on the pricing page. If you are comparing entry points, Rankable starts at $19 a month with a 14 day trial.
What is OTTO SEO?
OTTO is SearchAtlas's automation layer. It reads your site, finds technical and on-page issues such as missing meta tags, schema, headings, alt text and internal links, and applies the fixes rather than just listing them. It also covers content creation, Google Business Profile work and instant indexing submissions to Google and Bing.
How does OTTO apply changes to my website?
There are two routes. The default is the OTTO Pixel, a script in your site header, with a no-code Cloudflare DNS option and an edge route through a Cloudflare Worker: on that path fixes are injected into the served page and will not appear in your CMS. SearchAtlas also ships native connectors for WordPress, HubSpot, Webflow, Shopify, Contentful and Duda, plus GitHub and Vercel, which do write changes in. Ask which one your stack would use.
What happens to OTTO changes if I cancel?
SearchAtlas states that changing your OTTO plan does not affect your live optimizations or site updates, which covers moving between tiers. We could not find a published answer for what happens to pixel-delivered changes if the pixel is removed or the subscription ends, so get that in writing during the trial. Anything written through a native CMS connector stays in your CMS regardless.
What is the best SearchAtlas alternative?
It depends which module you are replacing. For rank tracking and backlink data, a full platform such as Semrush or Ahrefs. For briefs and content scoring, Frase at $49 a month or Clearscope. For getting articles researched, written, internally linked and published on a schedule, Rankable from $19 a month. For local SEO, stay with SearchAtlas.
Which SearchAtlas plan should I buy?
Count seats and rank tracker projects first. Seats run 1, 3, 5 and 10 across the four tiers and rank tracker projects run 20, 50, 1,000 and unlimited. Those two lines move far more than article credits do, so they decide the tier. The step from Growth to Pro is really a rank tracking upgrade, not a content one.
Is SearchAtlas better than Semrush?
SearchAtlas is cheaper at the entry point, $99 against $139, and it automates fixes rather than only reporting them, which Semrush does not do. Semrush has the deeper keyword and competitive datasets and the larger integration ecosystem. If you want the automation, SearchAtlas. If you want the research depth, Semrush.
Does SearchAtlas write and publish blog articles?
Yes. Every plan includes AI article credits, 30 a month on Starter up to 300 on Agency, and content can be pushed live through the OTTO pixel or a native CMS connector. Whether that is enough depends on volume: at 30 credits a month the content module is a supporting feature of an SEO platform rather than a publishing engine.
Buying a platform, or buying published pages?
SearchAtlas is a strong platform if you need rank tracking, local SEO and automated fixes. If the real problem is that the articles never get written, that is a different purchase. Rankable researches the cluster, writes the articles, links them together and publishes them on your schedule, from 19 US dollars a month.
