OTTO SEO is a strong choice if you want one platform that tracks rankings, does research and applies SEO fixes for you, and it is overkill if you only need the fixes. It is the AI agent inside Search Atlas: it changes titles, schema, canonicals and links through a pixel, a Cloudflare route or a CMS connector, with an optional approval step. Plans run from $99 a month for one site to $999 for ten.

A note on method. We have not run OTTO on a client site. This review is built from Search Atlas's own pricing page, its OTTO product page and its help center, read in October 2026, and it compares those facts with the product we build. Where a claim comes from a third party, we say so.

What does OTTO SEO actually do?

OTTO scans the site, picks issues it can fix and deploys the changes on its own. The product page lists technical work first: titles, schema, canonical URLs, broken and redirected links, Open Graph tags. On top of that it writes and updates content and handles parts of local SEO, press releases and link building through other Search Atlas modules. Every changed URL is submitted for indexing through Search Console and IndexNow.

How the change reaches your pages matters more than the list. The basic install is the OTTO Pixel, a script in the site header. The alternatives are a Cloudflare Worker that rewrites pages at the edge and native connectors that write into WordPress, HubSpot, Webflow, Shopify, Contentful and Duda, or into code on GitHub, Vercel and Netlify. That reach is OTTO's biggest practical advantage: almost any site can use it.

How much does OTTO SEO cost?

OTTO costs $99 a month for one site on the Search Atlas Starter plan, $199 for two sites on Growth, $399 for four on Pro and from $999 for ten on Agency. For more sites, a per-site table drops to $89, $79, $69 and $59 a month on annual billing, so three sites run $267 and fifteen run $1,035. Every action spends a shared pool of credits; Search Atlas says Starter's pool covers about 50 premium AI articles, near $1.98 each. The full breakdown, with top-ups, is on our OTTO SEO pricing page.

Is OTTO SEO safe for my site?

OTTO is safe to try if you turn on approval mode and watch the first batch closely. By default it runs on autopilot, which means a title or schema change can go live on hundreds of pages before anyone looks. Approval mode makes you sign off on each change first, and the dashboard lets you roll changes back.

Two details from the help center are worth knowing before you connect a production site. Pausing OTTO, which Search Atlas calls disengaging, stops new changes but does not revert the old ones. And the same article lists a known issue where the toggle shows one state while the backend does the other, and asks you to contact support if that happens. Neither is a reason to avoid the tool, but both argue for checking the live pages yourself after setup. Because edits can ship through a script or an edge worker, it also pays to have uptime monitoring that checks your pages every 30 seconds, so a broken deploy shows up in minutes rather than in next month's traffic report.

What reviewers criticize about OTTO

The independent review base is thin. Software directories show only a handful of OTTO ratings, and much of the praise you will find is from Search Atlas customer stories. The criticism repeated in third-party write-ups, including one published by a rival vendor, is that some recommendations are generic and automated schema can clash with markup the theme already prints. Both are fair warnings for any fix agent, which is why the approval step is worth its friction for the first month.

The other common complaint is complexity. Search Atlas is a large suite: site explorer, rank tracker, content tools, local SEO, ads, AI visibility and OTTO, all drawing on one credit pool. Buyers who wanted a single job done sometimes find themselves learning a platform.

Who is OTTO SEO best for?

  • An in-house team that needs research and tracking anyway. At $199 or $399 you get rank tracking, AI visibility and fixes in one bill.
  • A content-heavy site. The credit pool funds far more AI articles than a fixed-quota tool.
  • A site on Shopify, Webflow, HubSpot or a custom stack. The connectors and the Cloudflare route reach platforms that most source-level tools cannot.
  • An agency selling SEO under its own brand. White-label reporting starts on Pro at $399.

Who should pick something else?

If your site is on WordPress and the job is getting an audit's worth of fixes written into the pages, a narrower agent costs less and asks less of you. The same is true at the top end: fifteen small client sites cost $1,035 a month on the OTTO table. And if you never plan to open the rank tracker or the research tools, part of every plan pays for features you will not use. Our SearchAtlas alternative page lays out the options side by side.

OTTO SEO compared with Rankable

Rankable is the AI SEO agent we build, so read this with that in mind. It runs a 147-point audit, writes fixes such as titles, meta descriptions, schema, alt text, broken links and internal links into WordPress through its connector or into file-served sites over SFTP, and publishes a few researched articles a month. Every change is logged and can be undone, and review mode holds changes until you approve them.

Where OTTO wins: platform reach, article volume and everything that comes with the suite. Where Rankable wins: price per site once you manage several sites, fixed monthly quotas that a busy month cannot drain, and edits that live in the page source rather than in a script. Rankable does not track rankings and does not run a backlink index, so if you need those, OTTO or a separate tool covers them. For a wider look at tools that apply fixes, see automatic SEO optimization software.

Is OTTO SEO worth it?

OTTO SEO is worth it when you will use Search Atlas as your main SEO platform, because the fixes come bundled with tracking, research and a large content allowance for $99 to $399 a month. It is worth less as a fix tool alone, and it gets expensive per site past ten sites. Start the 7-day trial with approval mode on, and compare the fixes it proposes with a free audit from a narrower tool before the trial converts.

The short version

OTTO is a capable agent inside a big platform. Buy it for the platform. If what you need is an audit's worth of fixes written into a WordPress or file-served site, plus a few strong articles, Rankable does that from $99 for one site and $599 for fifteen. The SEO automation platform pricing comparison covers the other options.
