Short answer: the best SEO platform for B2B is the one that removes your team's real bottleneck. If you lack keyword and competitor data, buy a data suite: SE Ranking Core ($129 a month) or Ahrefs Lite ($129) for a small team, Semrush Advanced ($549) if you need its API. If you lack writers, a content tool such as Clearscope ($129) or Frase ($49) helps. If you lack the hours to apply fixes and publish, an execution platform such as Rankable ($99), SearchAtlas ($99) or Alli AI ($249 for five sites) makes the changes on the site for you.
Prices below come from each vendor's own pricing page, US list, billed monthly unless noted. B2B SEO tools sort into three jobs, and most B2B teams under ten marketers need two of them, not all three.
Compare the best B2B SEO tools by price
| Platform | Entry plan | Upper plan | Job it does | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush | SEO, $139 | Advanced, $549 (API) | Data suite | Extra users cost more |
| Ahrefs | Lite, $129 | Advanced, $449 | Data suite, backlinks | Extra users cost more |
| SE Ranking | Core, $129 | Growth, $279 | Data suite, AI Writer | 1 on Core, 3 on Growth |
| Clearscope | Essentials, $129 | Business, $399 | Content grading | Unlimited users |
| Frase | Starter, $49 | $299 for 100 articles | Content writing | Extra seats cost more |
| SearchAtlas | Starter, $99 | Pro, $399 | Data plus OTTO fixes | 1 to 5 seats |
| Alli AI | Business, $249 | Agency, $499 | On-page fixes via snippet | By site count |
| Rankable | Starter, $99 | Agency, $599 | Fixes plus published articles | No published cap |
Ahrefs also sells a Starter plan at $29, but it is monthly only with a small report allowance, too thin for a B2B team doing competitor research. Its Enterprise tier is $1,499. SearchAtlas drops to $79 a month on annual billing, and Rankable is half price billed yearly ($49.50 a month for Starter).
What makes an SEO platform good for B2B?
Three things separate a good B2B pick from a generic one. First, it has to be useful for small keywords. A B2B query with 30 searches a month can carry a five or six figure deal, so a tool that hides anything under 100 searches, or a content tool that needs a big SERP to score against, misses most of your market. Your own Search Console data is the best source for these queries, which is why platforms that read it directly have an edge here.
Second, it should help with bottom-of-funnel pages: alternatives, comparisons, pricing, integrations and industry pages. Those are the pages B2B buyers read in the week before they book a demo, and they are usually the ones missing or buried on a B2B site. Third, it has to fit the team. A B2B marketing team is often one or two people who also run paid, email and events. A platform that produces a 400-item audit nobody has time to act on is a cost, not a tool.
Data suites: Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking
Buy a data suite when you are flying blind: you do not know which competitor pages rank, which keywords exist around your category, or who links to your rivals. For B2B teams on a budget, SE Ranking's pricing is the easiest to justify: Core at $129 a month includes 10 projects and API credits, though only one manager seat, and Growth at $279 has three. Ahrefs Lite is also $129 and has the stronger backlink index, which matters if your category is won with links. Semrush starts at $139 for its SEO plan and is the broadest suite, but its API sits on Advanced at $549; the full ladder is in our Semrush pricing breakdown.
What none of the three does is change your website. They tell you the title is too long, the page has no internal links and a competitor outranks you, and then someone on your team has to go and fix it.
Content tools: Clearscope and Frase
Buy a content tool when you have writers (in-house or freelance) and need their drafts to cover a topic as well as what already ranks. Clearscope Essentials is $129 a month with unlimited users, and Business is $399, both with 20 drafts a month. Frase starts at $49 for 10 articles and goes to $299 for 100, and can publish straight to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity and Wix. For B2B, the limit of both is the same as any SERP-grading tool: for very small queries there is little on page one to grade against, and neither fixes the rest of your site.
Execution platforms: SearchAtlas, Alli AI and Rankable
Buy an execution platform when you already know roughly what is wrong and the problem is hours. SearchAtlas bundles a data suite with OTTO, which applies technical fixes, on-page changes and content through a JavaScript snippet, from $99 a month. Alli AI does on-page changes through a snippet across five sites for $249 or fifteen for $499, which suits agencies more than a single B2B brand. Snippet platforms work on any CMS, which is a real advantage if your site runs on Webflow or HubSpot CMS.
Rankable is the option for a B2B site on WordPress or served from files. It audits the site, rewrites titles and meta descriptions from the queries each page is shown for in Search Console, adds internal links to orphaned solution pages, applies schema and alt text, and writes and publishes buyer-stage articles: 4 a month on Starter ($99), 12 on Growth ($249) across three sites, 40 on Agency ($599) across fifteen. It does not track rankings and it does not run a backlink index; it reports Search Console clicks and impressions. The page on B2B SEO automation lists every change type it makes.
What are the best SEO tools for B2B marketing on a small team?
Match the stack to the budget, not to a feature list.
- Around $100 a month: Google Search Console plus one paid tool. If the site already has pages but nobody maintains them, pick an execution platform (Rankable Starter or SearchAtlas Starter). If you are starting from nothing and need to research the market first, pick SE Ranking Core or Ahrefs Lite.
- Around $250 to $300: one data suite plus one execution platform, for example Ahrefs Lite with Rankable Starter, or SE Ranking Growth on its own if you have the hours to act on it.
- Around $600 and up: Semrush Advanced for API access and depth, a content tool for your writers, and an execution platform so the audit findings actually ship.
SEO is the slower, compounding half of a B2B pipeline. Most teams run it alongside outbound, and some now hand first-touch calls to AI cold calling while organic builds. Whatever the mix, expect B2B SEO to take months, not weeks; our note on how long B2B SEO takes has the realistic timeline.
What are the differences between B2B SEO tools and B2C SEO tools?
The tools are mostly the same products; what differs is which features matter. B2B teams need low-volume keyword data, competitor and comparison pages, and a small number of high-intent articles. B2C teams, especially ecommerce, need scale: thousands of product and category pages, faceted navigation, product schema and content at volume. A B2C pick is covered in the best SEO platform for B2C.
Which B2B SEO platform should you buy?
- You need competitor and keyword research on a budget: SE Ranking Core, $129.
- You win deals through links and PR: Ahrefs Lite, $129, or Standard for more history.
- You need an API into your own dashboards: Semrush Advanced, $549.
- You have writers and want better drafts: Clearscope, $129, with unlimited users.
- Your site is on Webflow or HubSpot CMS and needs fixes applied: SearchAtlas or Alli AI.
- Your site is on WordPress and nobody has time to fix it or publish: Rankable, $99 a month for one site, with the free site audit showing every planned change before you pay.
If you are comparing the category pages rather than individual plans, the B2B SEO tools and software page covers what each type of tool does, and SEO automation platform pricing goes deeper on the execution platforms.
