AutoSEO is an AI SEO service that writes and publishes one article a day to your website and adds backlinks from its own network of sites, for $149 a month or $1,188 a year on one site. It suits an owner who needs a steady stream of new posts and has nobody to write them. It suits less well a site whose existing pages need fixing, or anyone running several sites, and its public review record is small and mixed.

We have not run AutoSEO on a site of our own, so this review sticks to what can be checked: the vendor's live pricing data, its own claims, the reviews on its Shopify listing and Google's published spam policies. We build Rankable, a competing AI SEO agent, and we say plainly where AutoSEO is the better buy.

Is AutoSEO worth it?

AutoSEO is worth it if your problem is that no content ever gets published and you want the cheapest way to get 30 articles a month onto one site. At $149 that is about $4.97 an article, far below any writer or agency. It is worth less if traffic is held back by the pages you already have, such as weak titles, thin category pages, missing schema or poor internal linking, because the plan lists articles, research and links, not repairs to existing URLs. It is also worth less for three or more sites, because each site is a separate plan.

How much does AutoSEO cost?

AutoSEO costs $149 a month for one website, or $1,188 a year paid upfront, which works out to $99 a month and saves $600 against twelve monthly payments. Shopify stores can buy the yearly plan inside the Shopify App Store for $990. A 3-day trial on the AutoSEO site costs $1, and the pricing section warns that the price rises to $199 for new customers soon. No multi-site plan is printed, so three sites on monthly billing come to $447. The full ladder for 1 to 15 sites is on our AutoSEO pricing page.

What AutoSEO does for the money

Both plans buy the same work. AutoSEO researches search terms and competitors, plans content, writes one article a day of roughly 1,500 to 2,500 words with images, and publishes it through a WordPress plugin, a Shopify app or other platform connections. It says it writes in about 100 languages. On the links side the monthly plan promises "100 Domain Authority worth of backlinks" a month and the homepage mentions 5 to 10 backlinks and mentions a month, placed through its network of other websites.

The vendor also makes results claims on its homepage: a 94% median organic traffic increase in five months, more than 2,479 businesses on the service, and nearly 9 in 10 customers staying after the first month. Those numbers come from AutoSEO itself and we could not verify them, so treat them as marketing until your own Search Console says otherwise.

What do AutoSEO reviews say?

Very little so far. The Shopify listing for the AutoSEO Content Publisher app, launched in December 2025, shows three reviews with a 2.3 average. A UK store owner gave five stars, saying they set up competitors, brand voice and image style carefully and that the early posts add real value. A Canadian merchant gave one star after nine days, saying it was not worth the price and showed no big change; the developer replied that the reviewer was on the $1 trial and that the trial is meant to show article quality. An Australian reviewer gave one star in June 2026, writing that they got no support during the trial and cancelled.

Two lessons come out of that. Setup effort seems to matter, because the happy reviewer put in detailed brand and competitor information. And nobody should expect ranking changes inside a three-day trial; judge the writing, not the traffic. Watch out for look-alike listings too: the "AutoSEO" page on G2 belongs to a different company, and Capterra lists a separate product with a similar name, so their reviews do not describe this service.

Are AutoSEO backlinks safe?

Ask before you rely on them. AutoSEO says its backlinks come from other websites in its network, which suggests customer sites linking to each other. Google's spam policies count excessive link exchanges as link spam, and Google says it can ignore links it judges to be part of a scheme. Network links are not automatically harmful, but you should see where your links will sit, whether the linking pages are relevant to your business, and whether your own site will be asked to link out in return.

The same caution applies to volume. Thirty AI articles a month is 360 new URLs a year. Google's scaled content policy targets pages produced at scale mainly to rank rather than to help readers, whatever tool made them. Read the first five articles closely, check facts that matter in your field and start on drafts or review if the platform lets you.

How to test AutoSEO in the $1 trial

  1. Record your baseline first: clicks, impressions and indexed pages from Search Console.
  2. Spend real time on setup, including competitors, brand voice and the products or services you want articles to sell.
  3. Read every article published in the trial for accuracy, tone and links to your money pages.
  4. Ask support which sites your backlinks will come from and whether your site gives links back.
  5. Decide before day 4. If you continue, pay monthly first; the annual plan's 30-day refund window is too short to judge rankings.

If your site is a Shopify store, remember that more visitors only pay off when they buy. A store that adds 30 articles a month should also make sure it can recover shoppers who abandon their carts, because blog traffic tends to browse before it buys.

Who should buy AutoSEO, and who should not

Buy it if you run one site, need content from nothing, can spend time on setup and are comfortable reviewing AI articles before they shape your brand. The Shopify yearly plan at $990 is the cheapest route for a store. Skip it, or pair it with something else, if your existing pages are the problem, if you run three or more sites, or if you cannot accept links from a network you have not seen.

AutoSEO alternatives worth pricing

  • Rankable, the agent we build, costs $99 a month for one site, or $49.50 billed yearly, $249 for three and $599 for fifteen. It audits each site, writes titles, meta, schema, alt text and internal links into WordPress or a file-served site with one-click undo, and publishes 4 to 40 researched articles a month by plan. It does not place links, does not track rankings and does not run a backlink index. See AI SEO for Shopify for how it handles stores.
  • RankPill is $99 a month for 30 articles on one site, the closest match on pure volume, compared in RankPill pricing.
  • SEO.AI starts at $149 a month for one site and adds Google Ads management, covered in SEO.AI pricing.
  • Soro lists at $39 a month on the Shopify App Store for automated blog posts, a cheaper store-only option.

The verdict

AutoSEO is an inexpensive way to put a daily AI article on one site, and the $1 trial makes it cheap to inspect the writing. Its weak points are the thin public review record, links that come from its own network and a plan that multiplies for every extra site. Test it on monthly billing with a clear baseline. If your site needs its existing pages fixed first, or you run several, an agent that writes those fixes in, with an undo for each one, is the better first purchase.
