Ahrefs no longer sells a plan called Agency. Agencies buy Advanced at $449 a month, which takes up to 11 users at $80 per extra seat, or Enterprise at $1,499 a month on an annual commitment, which starts at 3 users and adds more at $100 each. A three-person agency on Advanced pays $609 a month. Client sites you verify do not count against any project limit.
Several pages that rank for this search, and the answer box above them, still describe a $1,499 "Agency" plan. That price now belongs to Enterprise. Every figure below comes from the live Ahrefs pricing page, read from a US connection, and the seat math is ours.
Does Ahrefs have an agency plan?
No. The current ladder is Starter at $29, Lite at $129, Standard at $249, Advanced at $449 and Enterprise at $1,499 a month. Ahrefs describes Standard as the plan for freelance SEOs and consultants and Advanced as the plan for lean in-house teams, but Advanced is the one most agencies end up on. It is the only self-serve tier with Looker Studio integration and a listing in the Ahrefs agency directory, and it allows the most seats before you have to talk to sales.
| Plan | Per month | Users | Extra seat | Unverified projects | History |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $249 | 1, up to 6 | $60 | 20 | 2 years |
| Advanced | $449 | 1, up to 11 | $80 | 50 | 5 years |
| Enterprise | $1,499, annual | From 3, no cap | $100 | 100 | Unlimited |
Tracked keywords run 2,000, 5,000 and from 10,000 across the three, all updated weekly. Report Builder includes 5, 15 and 25 reports. Enterprise adds uncapped API access, custom endpoints, SSO and an audit log, which is what a larger agency's security review usually asks for.
How many client projects can an agency run on Ahrefs?
As many as it can verify. Projects with verified ownership are unlimited on every plan, Lite included. The 5, 20, 50 and 100 project limits apply only to sites you add without verifying them. So an agency that connects each client's Search Console is not capped by projects at all, and the project count should not be the reason you upgrade. Most comparison posts, including some that rank for this search, still treat 50 projects as a hard ceiling for Advanced.
What does cap you is competitors per project (20 on every self-serve plan, 100 on Enterprise), tracked keywords and seats. For a typical agency that tracks 150 to 200 keywords per client, Advanced's 5,000 keywords covers roughly 25 to 33 clients before you buy more.
Ahrefs Advanced plan cost for a real agency team
Every self-serve plan includes one user. The rest are extra seats, capped per plan, and they are what turns a $449 subscription into a four-figure bill.
| People who need logins | Cheapest workable plan | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Advanced plus 2 seats | $609 |
| 6 | Advanced plus 5 seats | $849 |
| 6, fewer than 20 unverified sites | Standard plus 5 seats | $549 |
| 11 | Advanced plus 10 seats | $1,249 |
| 3, needs SSO or uncapped API | Enterprise | $1,499 |
| 8 | Enterprise plus 5 seats | $1,999 |
| 12 | Enterprise plus 9 seats | $2,399 |
The row that matters is the twelfth person. Advanced stops at 11 users, so hiring one more moves you from $1,249 to $2,399 a month and onto an annual contract worth at least $17,988 a year. If you are at nine or ten people and growing, price Enterprise now rather than discovering it on the day you add a login.
A six-person shop with fewer than 20 unverified sites can stay on Standard at $549, but it gives up three years of history, Looker Studio and 3,000 tracked keywords to save $300 a month. For an agency that reports year over year to clients, that history is usually worth more than the saving.
How much does Ahrefs cost per client?
Divide the bill by active clients. A three-person agency on Advanced paying $609 a month across 25 clients spends $24.36 per client a month on Ahrefs. That is the number to build into a retainer, and it is why most agencies treat Ahrefs as overhead rather than rebilling it line by line.
Add-ons change it. Report Builder beyond the included reports is $99 a month for 50 reports, so Advanced with the add-on is $548 before seats. Project Boost Pro, which adds always-on audits and IndexNow submission, is $20 per project, which is $200 a month across 10 client sites. Content Kit starts at $99 and Brand Radar AI at $199 for AI visibility research.
Is Ahrefs Advanced worth it for an agency?
Yes, if the agency sells research and reporting and has three to eleven people who need their own logins. Five years of history, 5,000 tracked keywords, Looker Studio dashboards and the directory listing are built for that work. It is weaker value for a two-person shop, where Lite or Standard covers the same clients once they are verified, and for teams past eleven, who are forced to Enterprise anyway.
Two billing details to plan for. Ahrefs charges additional users automatically on a pay-as-you-go basis if you did not prepay them, and it bills extra credits and data the same way once you switch that on, so a forgotten seat or a heavy export month shows up on the card without a prompt. A simple alert on SaaS card spend catches that before month end. Ahrefs also does not issue refunds in general, and annual billing, worth up to 17%, has to be requested through support rather than switched in the account.
What Ahrefs does not do for an agency
Ahrefs tells you what to fix and what to write. Out of the box it does not change client sites. The closest it gets is Patches, part of Project Boost Max at $200 per project a month, which can push some on-page fixes, and at that price it adds up fast across a client roster. The hours an agency sells are mostly the hours between the Ahrefs report and the live change: rewriting titles, adding schema, fixing internal links, getting articles written and posted.
That gap is what Rankable is for. Rankable Agency is $599 a month, or $299.50 billed yearly, for 15 client sites: a 147-point audit on each, up to 2,000 fixes a month applied in WordPress or over SFTP, 40 researched articles published, and review mode so a client can approve changes before they go live. Rankable does not track rankings and does not run a backlink index, so it does not replace Ahrefs for research. Agencies that pair them pay about $1,208 a month for three Ahrefs seats plus execution across 15 sites. Compare the wider field on our best SEO software for agencies page.
Ahrefs agency plan alternatives
- Stay on Lite or Standard if you are one to six people and verify every client site. Our Ahrefs Lite vs Standard comparison sizes those two plans by team.
- Move research to a cheaper data tool if seats are the problem. The Ahrefs alternative page prices Semrush, SE Ranking and others.
- Add execution, not seats, if your team spends its week applying fixes the reports already list. A free Rankable site audit shows those fixes for one client site before you pay.
The short version
There is no Ahrefs Agency plan. Agencies buy Advanced at $449 plus $80 per extra user, up to 11 people, or Enterprise at $1,499 on an annual commitment from 3 users. Verify every client site, because verified projects are unlimited on all plans. Budget per client, watch the auto-charged seats, and decide separately who will make the changes the reports find.
